Wim Hof Method

Wim Hof Method breathwork and cold water immersion

Also known as ‘The Iceman’, dutch motivational speaker and extreme athlete Wim Hof, has created his own method of breathing techniques and meditation to endure being immersed in cold water.  Why? Because plunging the body into very low temperatures for increasing periods of time has  so many benefits, including boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation, balancing hormone levels and improving sleep quality. It can also help with weight loss, depression and dementia.

Cold water immersion coupled with the method’s breathing exercises increases oxygen in the body which gives you more energy, reduces stress and heightens natural endorphins— the feel-good brain chemicals that elevate your mood.

Under the gentle guidance and watchful eye of Lee at Ellasfield, you will learn the breathing techniques needed to sustain time swimming in the cold water pond through the winter months, and sitting in freezing ice baths. With these techniques, plus patience, focus and determination, you will explore and eventually gain mastery over your mind and body.

These workshops and 1:1 sessions will take place in the Autumn of 2024.
