HOW SHARING IN CIRCLES BROUGHT RICHNESS AND HEALING INTO MY LIFE

After qualifying as a Yoga Teacher I offered drop in classes at my home in West Sussex. This ignited a remembering within me; something ancient and familiar was stirring. I wanted to learn more. This brought me to Jez Hughes and Second Sight Healing where I studied Shamanic Practices. I also experienced first hand the deep healing that can occur when listened to in a circle. I was terribly nervous to share but in my bones I knew there was magic and healing to receive in this ancient way; of having a voice in community. I  wasn’t offered advice, my words were honoured by deep listening and I was given an opportunity to simply be me with no masks.

After my initiations my first delicate steps led me to facilitating regular women’s circles which include cacao cermonies. Baring witness to the shifts that can take place for women in this sacred space; I continue to deepen my connection with myself, rebuild a sense self-worth, and deepen my connection with spirit; which in turn has brought richness and real meaning to my life.

In circle, we share our true self—our wishes, our fears, longings, desires, sadness and fears, and our most personal stories. These are met with compassion, love, and acceptance. We are seen, heard and received with open hearts — which sparks the growth of sense of worth.

In circle, we remember that much of our mistrust and separation from other women stems from the witch hunts where it was safer for us to be separate, alone or point the finger at one of our sisters.

Women’s circles are returning to the villages and towns where you live;  from kitchens to community halls, to consciously-built yurts and tents. A quick search for “sacred circle,” or “women’s circle” will throw up a list of ways to connect with women in your area. Are you are feeling the call to join circle or create one for friends or colleagues?  Imagine a group of women sitting in circle in your living room, sharing their truths—being seen, heard, and accepted.

This is our time to hold hands and co-create better ways, heart led ways. Creating sacred spaces in which self-worth can flourish and we can let go of the need for validation from external sources.
