freedom from inner CRITICISM

Do you enjoy dance music and love to dance, but find it a bit daunting to dance sober in broad daylight? If so, I have just the event for you.

This Saturday, 2 - 6 PM, I'll be offering a Cacao Ceremony in the west Sussex countryside, featuring this beautiful, heart-healing elixir. You are welcome to join us just as you are—no pretence and no pressure to perform.

If you are unsure or feel a little nervous, let me share something with you - over thirty-five years ago, I sat in a small, beige therapy room with a rather serious therapist. On that day, I felt desperate, paranoid, and empty. I told my therapist, "I just want to be the kind of woman who can dance freely without worrying about what others think." She didn't seem remotely interested in this beautiful scene and curtly replied, "Oh, right," which left me feeling rather silly, since I'd thought everyone would want to feel this way. As I spoke these words, I envisioned a woman with a beautiful, full skirt twirling in the sunshine; the sense of freedom in that image made my heart yearn.

At the time, I thought this was an impossible dream, which left me feeling grief-stricken because I knew I was missing out on life. I believed this dream was reserved for the lucky ones—those born full of self-confidence and a carefree nature. While that can be true, it isn't a given. Many of us must embark on a journey of putting down our masks, unravelling from patterns of behaviour, and confronting the limiting beliefs that have been fed to us along the way.

This story reminds us never to lose hope in our dreams. It's essential to find spaces where you feel at home, come as you are and connect with kindred spirits—people who uplift and support you without judgement.

Take a breath, and let the land hold you this Saturday!

After enjoying our cacao, we will leave the yurt wearing headsets. This moment is free from performance pressure; all you need to do is find your perfect spot, feel whatever is alive for you in the moment, and allow your body to move from there.

Flow Dance Meditation invites you to get present so that you can feel and heal in an accessible, fun, and dynamic way. The music I use plays an important role in helping you to drop into a flow state of consciousness. 'Connect’, 'Move', and 'Release' are the three sections of this Saturday's gathering. Between the three sections, a drone sound invites you to check in with yourself and, using your interoceptive sense, feel what is moving through you.

You will be dancing on land, surrounded by beautiful trees, overlooking the paddocks with grazing horses. This setting fosters a deeper connection to nature, enabling a more profound sense of regulation and grounding.

This therapeutic practice has been designed to help with:

• Increasing happiness

• Improving emotional regulation

• Feeling grounded in the body

• Releasing anxiety and depression

• Heightening intrinsic motivation

• Increasing creativity

• Boosting feelings of gratitude

• Improving levels of confidence

When you feel the call, Ellasfield awaits.

Big love, Kim x
