Mindfulness and Meditation

Hi, I’m Kim and mum to Ella, 16yrs who lives with Cerebral Palsy, and my son River, age 5. Life has been a roller coaster living with disability, in the early years I found myself in a state of ‘Fight or Flight’ battling out one thing or another on behalf of Ella, my mind getting caught in a loop about what the future would hold or going over the past which I can’t change. 

Living in today’s fast paced society with a bombardment of media images, social media influences and lack of real connection can be challenging for all of us. I have found that ‘Mindfulness and Meditation’  are the most powerful ‘tools’ I have ever learnt. 

Firstly, I must mention that Mindfulness is not a religion, it is however about observation without criticism; being compassionate with yourself (which is a difficult one I know). When unhappiness or stress hover overhead, rather than acting or reacting as if it were all truth, we learn to treat these thoughts and emotions as if they were clouds in the sky, to observe them with a friendly curiosity, we can then learn to let them drift out of our awareness without clinging to them. As our practice deepens, we begin to understand that our minds are a continuous stream of chatter, most of it negative that probably has little or no truth in it what so ever, once you realise this fact you become liberated and in touch with your ‘true self’ you can start to live your life on purpose, the one you are meant to live.

In essence, mindfulness allows you to catch negative thought patterns before they tip you into a downward spiral. It begins the process of putting you back in control of your life. Over time, mindfulness brings about long-term changes in mood and levels of happiness and wellbeing and creativity.

These sessions are held in a relaxed and informal setting at Ellasfield which is our family home, and can be booked as a one-off, weekly, as you need it or part of the retreat experience package. They are an opportunity to learn basic mindfulness techniques to carry into everyday life or you can just turn up, sit quietly with a coffee & simply ‘be’ in a peaceful setting.

Accredited Life Coaching

Business Coaching
No one knows your business better than you, your business is just an extension of you and not a separate entity. Creating the correct mindset generates a flourishing business and the correct energy for any staff that you might have.

The process of change can be hard but through one to one coaching you will understand that it takes commitment and consistency to turn your life around and achieve success.

The key to success is finding out what success means to you and over a period of time we will explore this and give you the tools to be your own coach.

One to One or Group Yoga and Thai Massage
Thai massage consists of pressure points and stretches that aim to relive blockages along the 10 energy channels within the body to prevent or assist in relieving excessive muscle tension, joint pain, and lead to emotional and mental balance, easing the body and mind from every day stressors.
A short consultation before treatment is essential to get a better understanding of your state of health and personal needs, to enable sessions to be tailored to the individual.
